Future Stars National Development Team Members

The Future Stars program is unique in many ways. In the 8 – 9 year old Division the first 6 Athletes from the Future Stars Regional Championships will be National Development Team Members.

Then the 10 –11 year old division and the 12 year old division will compete at the Future Stars National Championships. Next the Future Stars program features competition using specially designed compulsory routines on nine events. In addition to the six men’s Olympic events, Future Stars athletes also compete still ring strength, parallel bar strength and flexibility routines. Finally, the Future Stars routines are evaluated by a panel made up of both judges and coaches as represented by the Junior National Apparatus Leaders and members of the Junior National Coaching Staff.

The top 30, 10 to 11 year olds and the top 20, 12 year olds from the Future Stars Championships are named to the National Development Team. The top15, 10 – 11 year olds and the top 10, 12 year olds will also be given the opportunity to attend a special Future Stars training camp which will be held in the summer. The Future Stars program is also unique in that the main focus of the Future Stars Championships is education and preparation for future success.
